Eileen and Michael Meilunas

Owners of Luna Beach Interiors, Eileen and Michael Meilunas, dreamed of starting an interior design company and relocating their family to Orange Beach, Alabama, also known to some as Pleasure Island. They carefully weighed their decision to leave their long time roots on Long Island. Each had a successful career on Park Avenue in New York City.

In addition, Eileen sat on the Advisory Board for the renovation of the New York Palace Hotel and this, in turn, helped shape her goal of owning her own design business. With that desire, they opted for a new quality of life, better education for their young children, and more entrepreneurial business opportunities.

From Long Island to Pleasure Island

With a solid business plan and marketing research in place, the Meilunas’ opened Luna Beach Interiors in June 2006 at The Commons in Orange Beach. The business outgrew that space and in June 2011 Luna Beach Interiors moved to a larger facility down the road in Orange Beach, which was expanded and renovated in 2014.

Luna Beach Interiors offers a vast assortment of house interior furnishings and accessories right off the showroom floor or custom ordered. “We are passionate in providing custom interior design services for our clients. The key is that our designers do the work while our clients relax. We listen to our customers and take a practical approach to the design,” explained Eileen Meilunas.

In addition to residential design services, Luna Beach Interiors offers design services for the commercial market. “We have been working with the #1 homebuilder in the United States, for almost a decade, staging model homes throughout the Gulf Coast area, including Baldwin and Mobile counties in Alabama, Northwest Florida and Southeast Mississippi. This in itself adds another dimension to the mix and allows us to broaden our horizon“ explained Eileen Meilunas.
